The International Folk Choral Music Festival I Castelli Incantati takes place in four villages located in the Castelli Romani area (20 km. from Rome): Albano, Ariccia, Castelgandolfo, Frascati.

The main purpose of the Festival is to bring far and different music cultures closer to each other. Contacts and relationships among choirs turn into mutual source of cultural and music enrichment.

Over 80 European choirs participated in the first four editions of the Festival, born in 2007, and the high music level of their performances contributed to enhance the quality of this event.
Thanks to the variety of the performances along with the beauty of the concert venues the Festival has become a qualifyed music event attracting large audiences. The villages of the Castelli Romani get lively with choristers dressed in traditional costumes adding frenzy of voices and colours in the streets, squares and palaces.

Taking place yearly between end of June and beginning of July the event is organized by the Associazione Trivium Musica Eventi Cultura in co-operation with the Associazione "Amici della Musica Cesare De Sanctis".
The 2012 edition will take place from 28 June to 1 July.

The Festival, being not stricklty a competitive event, is open to male, female, mixed, children and youth choirs with or without music accompaniment. A choral review, with the assignement of the Prize “I Castelli Incantati”, has been planned along with evening concerts taking place in historical palaces and courtyards as well as concert halls, historical squares and villas.
