The Associazione Amici della musica “Cesare De Sanctis” - Albano is named after the famous composer and writer of treatises, distinguished presence in Rome’s music life of the 19th century, academician and co-founder of S. Cecilia Conservatory.

For several years the Associazione has been organizing a remarkable music activity in the Castelli Romani through the co-operation of well known musicians and musicologists, featuring concert seasons and conferences: Franz Liszt Festival (Litszt international music weeks), Albano Festival, Genzano Musica. It has co-operated with national and European bodies and institutions as Fondazione Bucchi, Istitituto Nazionale Tostiano, Istituto Liszt di Bologna, Università di Roma “Tor Vergata”, S. Cecilia Conservatory etc.

Concerts have taken place in historical palaces and villas: Palazzo Savelli (Albano), Aldobrandini Stables (Frascati), Ruspoli Palace and Roman Ships Museum (Nemi), Sforza Palace and Town Hall (Genzano), Villa d’Este and Estensi Stables (Tivoli).

The Association, conceiver of the Project Music Treasures in Latium, is carrying out also an important research activity by means of concerts, exhibitions and editing works about music and musicians of Rome’s area.
